Olympic Outfits 'Whose Cool in the Pool'

I must admit, the most exciting aspect of the Olympic Games for me, are the outfits.....not too much sports viewing happens in this house, except for the snippets I hear at the tail end of the nightly news. When people ask me did you see the 200 metre medley, I answer yes and what's with the Russian swimming costume, and why did Stella avoid red like the plague in her volley ball ensemble, this attracts a blank stare and an instant change of topic.

Well done Sportscraft!  Impressively chic and classically preppy, not a hint of cliche Australiana in site.

Non cliche Australian! The Dunlop Volley pimped up with custom details.

Not sure about the Ralph Lauren?  Perhaps these outfits were left over from the Great Gatsby.

'Shag Me Baby' Not.  Just a glimpse of these polyester high waisted slacks, makes me cringe.

Gran problema con el equipo, Espanol.  Ed Hardy does Baywatch with a Hot Wheels vibe.

  1. Still can't say I was a huge fan of our outfit Roberta, but I'm warming to it....and when comparing it to other teams I think our Australian Team looked pretty fine.

  2. ha I am so like you - I just make rude comments about the outfits and I don't actually watch the sport

  4. Brilliant! I'm glad it's not just me who's been examining the outfits more than the times/sports/medals etc. I do love a preppy look good for all occasions. x

  5. Well you just made the Olympics interesting for me!

I do like the Sportscraft costume too, certainly is a nice look. Spain and Russian's just made me cringe too.

    1. Oh yes, how do you think the athlete's felt walking around the olympic village in them.

  6. Laughing our loud here at your comments. I am with you, Sportscraft have done a good job. Timeless and classic. The team this year will be able to look back at photos of themselves and not be thinking how hideous and dated the uniform is (how I judge outfits for important events... consider how it will look in a photo in 20 - 50 years time!). xx
