Rowantree Designs 'Three Amigos'

I couldn't wait to show you these three little shirts, I made for Rowan last week.  I was channelling   'Cowboys and Indians' moments, thinking of my 'Let's Play' collection I designed back in 2010 which was featured here.   I have always loved the reds and navy colour palettes, whether it be  nautical inspired, or have that elegant European flavour, children always look so stylish wearing clothes which are strong in colour and style.  Shirts are my fave on little boys.....if you havn't already noticed.

Rowantree Design 'New Shirts for Rowan'

I can't resist a little man wearing great threads and a hip happening shirt gets me at first glance......It doesn't matter where I am, I am always on the look out for well dressed, little guys.  Last week I made five shirts for Rowan and a couple of corduroy dacks.  I love choosing fabrics for his shirts that are a bit out there thankfully he is too young to negotiate with his wardrobe yet.  I love to dress him up when we head out for the day, I get loads of comments which makes me feel very proud of my little dude!
Rowan is almost seventeen months, his first birthday seems so long ago and look at him modelling this shirt, how he has changed and oh so quickly, there is not a day that goes by when I don't take a photograph, how I wish I could bottle a little of him each day as well.

Rowantree Designs "Meet Claire"

Meet Claire, of the Rowantree Autumn/Winter collection.  A new dress style for Rowantree.  When I was designing this little poppet I wanted to design a dress that still had the classic Rowantree trademark of  style and simplicity, the aline silhouette always works well for every toddler body shape and here I have gathered an empire line bodice without making the dress too full. A slightly full sleeve, perfect for cooler days and elastic cuffs.  The fabric is a thirties inspired floral, sweet little white and pink toned flowers.  I adore this autumn terracotta colour.

This is the new old wardrobe, it is sitting on my verandah waiting to be transformed...Can't wait to share this project with you?

My garden hedges have grown so lush this wet summer

Waiting for Rowan to wake up from his morning sleep I had some fun with the camera........This is my collection of old suitcases and one of my painted frames.  The Cyclops pram is original made in the late fifties and early sixties, I have loved her forever in her bright orange and yellow floral.  Yesterday I rescued her from the attic and gave her a wipe over.  I am going to enjoy having her around the house.  Do you like to move things around in your house, style up your decor and take pictures.

Claire will be available on the Rowantree online store this week in size one and two.

A little Kiwi bonding

I'm heading over the ditch this afternoon for a little kiwi bonding,  the sailor and I are catching up with the family and cussi bros for some general kiwiana. Whilst the sailor will be enjoying his sailing and beers I will be out scouting for some objects' de art  for the bach.  I'm thinking anything maori, oars, tikis, carvings and some native kiwi art.
I had to give Rowan one huge cuddle and a million kisses this morning as I won't see him until Monday. Yes! I will miss him a zillion.  I'm one lucky nan, who gets to hang out with the best guy in town most days of the week.  Not only does he love hanging out with me, going up to the bach, going around all the crazy shops I frequent, he listens to all my stories, laughs at all my jokes, devours all my cooking and rocks my taste in music.  I can't explain the joy that this wee man brings me.

If you haven't entered my vintage knickernoo giveaway  head on over and have a peek at some very delicious gelato coloured baby bloomers.  Have a brill weekend!

Celebrity Toddlers Rocking the Cardi!

Celebrity Tots are rocking the cardigan this season....
and Rowantree Design is rocking them online.

Knox Jolie Pitt wearing five button vintage inspired cardigan

Nahla Berry teams her cardi with a floral liberty inspired print blouse and her fave denims.

Honor Marie loves her cardi's, and shows us here, how well she styles them.

Sitting her in my fave denims, a peasant top, a cardi and my fave pair of loafers.  That's how I dress most days when the weather is a little cool.  I have always sported a cardi from  the early days of Clark's patent leather party shoes right through to my corporate days wearing court shoes, and now my fun days of trotting around in wedges, flats and Haviana's.  I love rocking a good cardi.

I also dressed my girls in cardigans,  I love the fact that you can take your girls summer smocks, blouses and dresses right through to winter with a cardigan, a pair of tights and fave denims. Same for boys, he can  keep wearing his favourite shirt or tee with his fave denims or rompers, layer them up with tees and a cardigan or vest.

I have a beautiful collection of 100% luxury organic cotton knitwear, that is so soft on infants skin, the colours in the range are very versatile and work well with all the pieces in the Rowantree Design clothing collection.   So below I wanted to give you some ideas for the cooler days ahead.

Three Handsome Little Dudes

Three Handsome Little Rompers

I'm jumping for joy today the sun is shining and we are hanging out in the back garden.  A perfect day for me to take a few shots with the new camera and show off these little dudes.  The rompers are so popular, I think they make the wee man look very handsome indeed.  These little dudes are new and will be in the Rowantree online store this week.
The sailor gets a laugh when I talk about my Rowantree pieces, he laughs at the fact that I always have names for them, and chat to them whilst making them.  It's a beautiful thing making things by hand.  I know  the seams are all straight, the buttons are nice and sturdy and that when you look inside,  everything is neat and tidy.  When I pop them in the bag and post them off to a lucky little person, I know that mum can wash them over and over again and they will be as good as new!

Rowan Romper Meets Little Hamish

Two weeks ago I received an email from a very talented lady,  Kate Facey,  uber baby photographer from 'Baby Steps Photography and Design'.   Kate was enquiring about the Rowan Romper.  Do I have a size 1 in the Nautical Stripe and the Spotty Spots.   Two!   I immediately thought what lucky little lads, getting a Rowan Romper to wear on Christmas day.  Do I gift wrap them separately or together, or maybe they are for the same lucky little lad?  So I emailed Kate and asked should I gift wrap together or separately!  Here is Kate's response....

"This might seem a little bit crazy, but I actually bought the striped romper from you at Mathildas Market and I'm just so in love with it that as my new little baby, Hamish, is growing out of the 00 size, I can't bear to be without it!!  When I bought it from you there was only one and you weren't sure you could get more material (it was some time ago) so I was just thrilled to find your website and that I could get them again!"  Kate Facey

I was so touched.  Thank you Kate for loving the Rowan Romper so much you needed to buy the same one in the larger size and NO you are not in the least a little bit crazy.

AND HERE IS HAMISH.........SOOO CUTE AND HE WIGGLES THAT ROMPER SO WELL!

Can't wait to see him in his Spotty Spots
Pop on over here to Kate's website, you 'll be all drooly over her gorgeous baby photography.

Rowantree Designs 'Making cardigans hip'

Who said the humble cardigan was boring?  Certainly not me,  I have always been fond of the cardi, one of those wardrobe essentials you can't live without, so why should the tiny tots live with out one of Rowantree Designs luxurious organic cotton collection cardigans, especially on the coolish days like to day.  The moral of this story is..celebrate your children's new spring clothes and just pop a cardi!
